Deconstruction + reconstruction of a media text

The media text we have chosen to deconstruct and reconstruct is the film trailer for Paranormal Activity 2, directed by Tod Williams, 2010. The aim of our work is to make sure that everything looks like it is shot from a surveillance camera.



Research into making the media text:
Finding ideal sounds.

This sound is identical to that in the paranormal activity trailer. The sound at 0.14 is the same as this boom sound that we found using www.freesound.org






Shooting Schedule:
Tuesday 2nd October:
Filming in Oak, near the vending machines.
Props needed: Comb, back combed hair to shoot the close up of the girl also black t shirt.

Wednesday 3rd October:
Filming the scenes in the classroom, shooting a sequence in the canteen, on top of the Oak building. 
No props needed.
All group members needed.

Thursday 4th October
Begin filming, all cast needed.

Friday 5th October
Go onto the roof, reshoot the scene of the man running into the camera.
All cast needed on the roof.

Tuesday 9th October
Begin editing and putting all of the clips into order.

Wednesday 10th October
Add the static effect and also the sounds.
