Evaluation
In order for us to reconstruct a media
task, we had to get into groups of 3 or 4 and decide what type of media text we
would like to recreate and also allocate roles that each of us would undertake.
As a group we decided to make a Film Trailer, this helped us to raise our
skills as we had only previously worked on music videos. Another reason why we
picked that media text was because a 2 of our groups members (Andy Goodhand and
Dan Troupe) were creating them for their final piece and we agreed to chose one
of their pre-produced storyboards.
We began the production by creating a
shooting schedule that must be stuck to at all times; this was posted on my
blog.
In our production we did not have scene
that needed many people, so we could shoot a lot of our clip during lessons,
this took approximately 2 hours to do so, making sure that we got the angle
correct and that it looked like the music video that we were trying to
reconstruct. We had to use a lot of location shots, we had to get prior access
to go on the roof to view the trees, then of the computer room, the hallway and
the prayer room. We did this within an hour lesson, and the second hour lesson
was spent getting the facial shots and reshooting any we wasn’t sure about.
The main things I've learnt from this task are time management, organisation and basic knowledge of using a camera. Prior to this I had already used the camera and editing suite, but not used it in a way that we did when creating this project. If I was to give some advice to anybody creating this task it would be: write a thorough shooting schedule that you are going to stick to, and also to share all ideas as a group. Each performing the set roles that you have been allocated; producer, director etc...
If I was to do this task again, I would make sure that we think our locations through more thoroughly, thus, avoiding the reason to have to go back and reshoot several times. Although in the end we pulled through, the process would have been made easier if we had done so.

OUTTAKES
This video is our outtakes when producing our reconstruction of paranormal activity. We chose to do this in order to talk about the problems we faced when making our 30 second clip.
